Abua Housing Scheme: DM Urges Quick Beneficiary Verification
District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri convened a meeting to review the Abua Housing Scheme, emphasizing speedy verification and release of the first installment to beneficiaries.
JAMSHEDPUR – District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Mr. Manjunath Bhajantri led a review meeting on the Abua Housing Scheme at the Collectorate Auditorium in Jamshedpur.
The meeting focused on accelerating the verification of over 1 lakh 30 thousand applications received for the state-supported housing initiative.
Bhajantri instructed Block Development Officers and Circle Officers to ensure 100% verification of applications as soon as possible.
He emphasized the need for physical verification within a set timeframe to benefit all eligible homeless individuals under the scheme.
The goal is to disburse the first installment to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts by January 29, 2024.
Abua Awas Yojana, a state government’s ambitious scheme, aims to provide three-room houses, including a clean kitchen, in a minimum area of 31 square meters.
The houses will be primarily registered in the names of women family members, with provisions for alternate registration in certain cases.
The housing assistance per unit in the scheme amounts to Rs 2.00 lakh, distributed in four installments, along with additional assistance for toilet construction through convergence with SBM or other sources.
The meeting, attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum Mr. Piyush Sinha, and other district officials, also saw block officials joining via VC, highlighting the scheme’s comprehensive and inclusive approach.
