Kadma Road Closure Sparks Public Outcry

Sanjeev Acharya Demands Reopening of 100-Year-Old Kadma Roads

Public distress escalates over the closure of century-old roads in Kadma, prompting Bharatiya Janatantra Morcha’s Sanjeev Acharya to demand immediate action.

JAMSHEDPUR – The sudden closure of Kadma’s K.D. Flat Main Road and Out House Road, both approximately 100 years old, has sparked significant public outcry in the area.

Central General Secretary and Kolhan in-charge of Bharatiya Janatantra Morcha, Sanjeev Acharya, has submitted a demand letter to the District Magistrate, seeking the reopening of these crucial roads.

The closure affects nearly 20 to 25 settlements, encompassing a population of about 1 lakh, and disrupts access to various banks, flats, shops, and educational institutions like Kerala Public School.

Notably, the closure has led to consistent traffic jams in Kadma Bhatia Basti and Netaji Subhash Chandra Park Road, areas frequented by banks and commercial establishments.

The unannounced closure of these roads, vital for daily commutes and activities, has caused considerable inconvenience to the public.

Particularly affected are the poor women from out houses, rickshaw pullers, and handcart vendors, who now face an additional 1 to 2 kilometers of travel.

Sanjeev Acharya, along with Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha members and local representatives, has urged for prompt legal action to address the grievances of the affected communities.

Failure to reopen these roads could lead to protests, as indicated by Acharya and the concerned public.
