Kolhan Records Chilling Low Temperatures

Jharkhand Grapples with Unexpected Cold Wave and Sub-10 Temperatures

Jharkhand witnesses a notable drop in temperatures, with Jamshedpur recording 9°C, and surrounding areas experiencing severe cold wave conditions, as per IMD Ranchi Centre.

JAMSHEDPUR – A significant meteorological event has unfolded in Kolhan, with the region now experiencing colder conditions due to clear skies and dry north-westerly winds.

Jamshedpur, a prominent city in the area, registered a record low temperature of 9 degrees Celsius, a notable three degrees below the seasonal average.

This weather pattern is not isolated to Jamshedpur, as nearby regions are also facing similar conditions.

Bokaro and its surrounding areas are currently under a mild cold wave, experiencing temperatures significantly lower than usual.

Chaibasa, located in the West Singhbhum district, recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius, four degrees below the average.

Daltonganj, the headquarters of Palamu, also felt the chill with a low of 6.5 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal.

Bokaro Steel City reported a minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius, remarkably six degrees below the seasonal norm.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s Ranchi Centre, there has been a resurgence of Sub-10 cold in the region.

Most areas recorded temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.

Ranchi, the state capital, recorded a low of 7 degrees Celsius, which is 2.8 degrees below the average.

While a declining trend in minimum temperatures was observed in most places, meteorologists expect a slight increase in temperatures in the next 48 hours, providing temporary relief from the intensifying cold.

In an added twist, the Ranchi Met Centre has forecasted light rain for tomorrow in some isolated areas of southern Jharkhand.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe as the state continues to battle these cold conditions.
