Road Safety Month in Jamshedpur: A Drive Towards Safer Roads

Jamshedpur’s Road Safety Month initiative, starting January 19, 2024, promises diverse activities for enhanced safety awareness.

JAMSHEDPUR – In summary, Jamshedpur’s Road Safety Month promises to be a comprehensive initiative, covering a wide array of activities designed to foster a culture of safety on the roads.

To acknowledge and promote safe driving habits, "Samman Diwas" or Recognition Day for safe drivers will be held, celebrating those who exemplify adherence to road safety norms.

Schools in Jamshedpur will actively participate in road safety awareness programs during January and February, including road safety movie screenings and spot safety quizzes for various age groups.

Vehicles of vendors will undergo thorough safety audits throughout January to ensure compliance with stringent safety standards.

The first week of February will also include a Road Safety Awareness program for employees’ families, focusing on domestic safety to extend the road safety message into homes.

Starting January 18th, employees will receive daily SMS and weekly email reminders about road safety, along with an online safety quiz competition on January 18th.

Emphasizing proactive road safety measures, a road survey will audit unsafe road conditions and review compliance for improvements.

From January 17th to 19th, an eye check-up camp for drivers and employees will highlight the importance of good vision in ensuring road safety.

Communication Boards related to road safety awareness will be displayed from January 18th to 20th at various locations, including depot and site offices.

Throughout the month, daily toolbox talks will be conducted at different work sites to raise awareness among workmen, as part of a continuous road safety campaign.

The innovative "CHETANA" vehicle, equipped with an LED display, will showcase safety films and broadcast audio messages via public address systems on PHS garbage vehicles, displaying road safety messages to the public.

A drawing competition for school children, focusing on road safety, is planned in the first week of February, aiming to instill a sense of responsibility in the youth.

The inaugural event on January 19th will see over 60 vehicles flagged off, adorned with road safety messages, symbolizing the start of the month’s activities.
