Adityapur Standoff Ends in Disappointment for Villagers

JBKSS Protest for Villager Release Ends Without Resolution at Adityapur Station

Adityapur police station standoff ends without the release of detained villagers, leaving families and JBKSS disappointed.

ADITYAPUR – In a dramatic turn of events, families and members of Jharkhandi Bhasha Khatian Sangharsh Samiti (JBKSS) faced disappointment at the Adityapur police station.

They had gathered to demand the release of Prem Mardi, a villager of Hathiyadih and JBKSS leader, who was detained by the police.

After intense negotiations lasting about five hours, the JBKSS delegation met with the DSP and SDM, voicing their demands and seeking cooperation.

However, the officials made it clear that they could not facilitate the release of the arrested individuals, advising the delegation to approach the court instead.

This news brought despair to the villagers’ families, leading them to return home empty-handed.

The arrests were a response to the escalating tensions over the construction of Jamna Auto in Hathiadih’s Industrial Park, which saw increasing agitation and potential violence under the leadership of Mardi and Tarun Mahato.

The administration’s decision to detain Mardi and 21 others marked a significant move in quelling the unrest.

Despite initial resistance, the JBKSS protesters eventually dispersed, adhering to the police’s firm stance.

The future course of action for Hathiyadih villagers and JBKSS remains uncertain, though leaders express willingness for meaningful dialogue and respect for the law.
