Jamshedpur Joins Nationwide Protest Against MP Suspensions

Opposition Parties in Jamshedpur Rally Against Central Government

In a significant show of dissent, Jamshedpur witnessed a major protest led by opposition parties against the suspension of MPs from Parliament. The demonstration, part of a nationwide movement, highlights growing concerns over perceived authoritarian tendencies in the central government.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur became one of the cities where opposition parties joined the nationwide protest against the central government, sparked by the suspension of opposition MPs from Parliament.

Congress District President Anand Bihari Dubey criticized the government, asserting the need to challenge its authoritarian approach.

Dubey highlighted the unprecedented suspension of over 150 MPs, calling it a move to protect a single MP and indicative of dictatorial governance.

AITUC leader Ambuj Thakur condemned the suspensions as an attack on democratic principles, equating it to the rise of fascism in India.

Thakur’s remarks emphasized the criticality of MPs’ right to question in a democracy, viewing the suspensions as a dictatorial tactic.

The protest saw active participation from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, AITUC, and other opposition parties.

Prominent JMM figures, including MLA and District President Ramdas Soren, joined the demonstration, signaling strong opposition to the central government’s actions.

Sheikh Badruddin, Pramod Lal, Bir Singh Suren, and several women leaders from JMM also took part, showcasing a united front.

The demonstration in Jamshedpur reflects a broader dissent against the central government’s actions, with protests occurring across India.

These protests represent a critical moment in Indian politics, with opposition parties rallying to challenge what they perceive as authoritarian practices by the central government.
