Tata Motors Jamshedpur Announces Temporary Shutdown

Material Shortage Leads to Two-Day Block Closure at Tata Motors

Tata Motors in Jamshedpur to temporarily close on 18th and 19th December due to material shortages, impacting salaries and leaves.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Motors in Jamshedpur has announced a block closure on 18th and 19th December, as confirmed by plant head Ravindra Kulkarni.

This temporary shutdown is attributed to material shortages impacting production.

The closure follows the regular weekly holiday on Sunday, 17th December.

During this period, employees will face a 50 percent deduction in both salary and leaves.

For those with exhausted Privilege Leave (PL) or Casual Leave (CL), salary adjustments will be made for the closure period.

Employees or officers required to work during the closure must report as usual, facing a full day’s salary deduction and holiday reclassification for absenteeism.

Contractual employees, however, will not receive any salary during the block closure.

The decision reflects the challenges faced by the automotive industry in managing resources amid supply chain disruptions.
