Youth Protest at JSSC Headquarters Over Exam Postponement
Massive Protest at JSSC; Youth Demand Exam Schedule and Local Language Priority
Jharkhand youth rally against JSSC over delayed exams and demand nine-point action plan.
RANCHI – Hundreds of young individuals from various districts of Jharkhand gathered at the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) headquarters in Namkum on Friday to protest against the postponement of the ‘Graduate General Aptitude Combined Competitive Examination’.
The youth expressed their anger by chanting slogans against the JSSC throughout the day.
A critical moment occurred when a young man threatened to commit suicide with petrol but was quickly apprehended by the police.
The protesters, who began assembling from 10:00 AM, filled the grounds rapidly, prompting the deployment of additional police and fire brigade units.
The youth were frustrated by the sudden rescheduling of the JSSC CGL exam from December 16-17 to January 21-28.
Their demands included the organization of the ‘Product Constable Competition Examination’ in January and giving priority to local languages in JSSC exams.
They also insisted on a dialogue with the JSSC President.
Namkum CO Amit Bhagat eventually calmed the situation by promising talks with the president.
Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi criticized the state government for neglecting the concerns of JSSC aspirants.
He accused the Hemant Soren government of trivializing the struggles of youth preparing for government jobs and warned of potential political consequences if their demands were not addressed promptly.
