East Singhbhum Administration Acts to Protect Homeless from Cold
District administration arranges bonfires and blankets to shield the poor from dropping temperatures in Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – The East Singhbhum district administration is taking proactive steps to combat the challenges posed by the rapidly falling temperatures in the district.
DC Manjunath Bhanatri has directed officials to set up bonfires at various locations, including streets and prominent areas, to provide warmth to the homeless and underprivileged.
Bonfires have been arranged across all blocks and urban areas, particularly at major intersections, public places, and around the railway station, as part of the district’s cold weather response.
Officials have also been instructed to provide blankets, food, and basic necessities at night shelters and shelter homes.
This initiative aims to protect vulnerable populations from the cold and to rescue those sleeping outside, moving them to shelter homes for safety.
Jamshedpur has experienced a significant drop in temperature over the past few days, with the maximum temperature recorded at 26.3°C and the minimum plunging to 11.2°C on Saturday.
Forecasts indicate a further decrease in temperature in the coming days.
Neighboring Ranchi is also experiencing cold weather, with the minimum temperature falling to 8.2°C.
The district’s comprehensive response highlights its commitment to ensuring the well-being of its residents during the winter season.
