CCTV Aids Police in Tracking Scammers After Jewelry Heist in Jamshedpur
In a cunning jewelry scam, a Jamshedpur woman falls victim to con artists posing as cleaners, with police now using CCTV to track the culprits.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a shocking incident of deception in Jamshedpur, a woman named Beauty Singh was tricked into handing over her jewelry by two con artists.
These miscreants, posing as Patanjali company employees, managed to convince Singh to give them her jewelry for cleaning.
Initially, they demonstrated their so-called cleaning process using anklets and earrings, employing a special powder.
Urgently requesting more gold for the process, they warned that the powder’s effect would diminish if not applied quickly.
Unsuspectingly, Singh complied, providing all her gold jewelry.
The scammers then deceitfully placed the jewelry in a packet, instructing Singh to refrigerate it.
Upon later inspection, Singh found only powder in the packet, realizing she had been conned.
Police station in-charge Raju confirmed that an investigation was underway following this deceitful act.
The police, utilizing CCTV footage from the vicinity, have embarked on a hunt to track down the culprits.
This incident occurred in Repeat Colony, under the jurisdiction of the MGM police station.
Initial police response included visiting the scene and conducting a thorough inquiry with the victim’s family.
