Bagbera Filter Plant Work to Resume After Protests

Protest Leads to Restart of Baghbeda Filter Plant Construction

Bagbera residents’ protests lead to action on Filter Plant construction delay.

JAMSHEDPUR – Subodh Jha, Chairman of the Baghbeda Metropolitan Development Committee, led a protest against the halt in construction of the Bagbera Filter Plant, resulting in prompt administrative action.

A demand letter was submitted to Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Ranjan and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Piyush Singha, in the absence of the Deputy Commissioner.

Following the protest, SDO Piyush Singh immediately intervened, attempting to contact Executive Engineer Sumit Kumar, who was unavailable by phone.

Subodh Jha then spoke with SDO Mahendra Baitha of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department.

Baitha informed that the contractor had planned to recommence work from December 1.

However, Jha warned of a large-scale protest if the construction of the Baghbeda Housing Colony Filter Plant did not start as scheduled.

The demonstration was supported by various community members and local BJP leaders, including Vinay Singh, Rajiv Kumar, Yash Agrahari, Pashupatinath, and Chandrakant Ojha.

Other participants like Piyush Kumar Singh, Rajendra Dangi, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Alok Pathak, and Vinay Kumar Dubey, along with Ashok Sharma, Sahil Yadav, Anshu Sharma, Shubham Singh, Anup Pandey, Sumit Kumar, Ajay Jaswal, and Hrithik Kumar, also joined the protest.

This development highlights the community’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of essential infrastructure projects.

The proactive response by the administrative authorities to the community’s concerns showcases the effectiveness of collective action in addressing public grievances.

The restart of the Bagbera Filter Plant construction is a significant step towards improving local water and sanitation facilities, which are crucial for the well-being of the Bagbera residents.
