ICMR study reveals no link between Covid vaccines and sudden deaths, focusing instead on severe Covid cases’ impact on heart health and stroke risk.

DESK – Amid rising concerns about sudden deaths among seemingly healthy youth, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has released findings from a comprehensive three-year study.

The study aimed to understand the causes behind such fatalities, especially in fit-looking individuals.

Contrary to suspicions, the Covid vaccine was found not to be a factor in these sudden deaths.

Instead, the research pointed to a heightened risk of sudden death in youth previously hospitalized for severe Covid-19.

The study involved youth aged 18 to 45 who had been hospitalized due to Covid.

It spanned across 47 hospitals in 19 Indian states, covering data from October 2021 to March 31, 2023.

Analysis of this data, conducted between May and August of this year, focused on the patients’ health 42 days post receiving at least one vaccine dose.

The World Health Organization’s guidelines, considering side effects within 42 days of vaccination as relevant, were followed in the study.

The findings indicate that Covid-19 can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke, thus clarifying the vaccine’s role in these incidents.

This research underscores the importance of vaccination, as it offers protection against severe consequences of Covid-19.
