Jamshedpur’s Naman NGO, led by Amarpreet Singh Kale, commemorates Lala Lajpat Rai’s legacy with dignitaries and citizens.

JAMSHEDPUR – The city’s social organization, Naman, led by founder Amarpreet Singh Kale, commemorated the death anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai, a revered freedom fighter of India. The event saw participation from hundreds of youth, women, and many dignitaries, honoring Rai’s legacy.

During the tribute, Amarpreet Singh Kale highlighted Lala Lajpat Rai’s courageous stance against the British rule and his pivotal role in India’s independence movement. He emphasized Rai’s contribution as irreplaceable and a source of perpetual inspiration.

The program featured speeches from Brij Bhushan Singh, Swadesh Prabhakar, Paramjit Singh Kale, Ramkeval Mishra, and Dhanurdhar Tripathi, with Rajiv Kumar moderating the event.

Participants including Jitendra Chawla, Raghavendra Sharma, and numerous others joined in paying their respects, underscoring the enduring impact of Rai’s ideals on the nation and society.

Lala Lajpat Rai, often referred to as ‘Punjab Kesari’ (Lion of Punjab), was a prominent figure in the Indian independence movement.

His legacy, particularly his role in the non-cooperation movement and his brave confrontation during the Simon Commission, which eventually led to his demise, remains a significant part of India’s freedom struggle narrative.

Naman in Jamshedpur not only commemorates Rai’s sacrifice every year, but also reflects the city’s engagement with its rich historical heritage and its commitment to remembering the heroes of India’s independence.
