Jamshedpur DM Calls for Accelerated Development, Emphasizes Rural Awareness

District Magistrate Urges Speed in Development, Coordination Among Departments in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur’s DM Manjunath Bhajantri leads a meeting to expedite development works, focus on rural programs, and ensure no encroachment on government land.

JAMSHEDPUR – A pivotal District Coordination Committee meeting, chaired by District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr. Manjunath Bhajantri, took place in the Collectorate Auditorium, Jamshedpur.

The meeting was marked by the presence of notable officials including Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum Mr. Piyush Sinha, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jaideep Tigga, among others.

Mr. Bhajantri emphasized the importance of all Block Development Officers conducting regular field visits and intensive monitoring of development plans.

He underscored the necessity for high-quality development works, and the need for thorough inspections of schools, Anganwadis, and hospitals in remote rural areas.

A specific directive was issued to identify schools with water issues for action by DMFT.

Mr. Bhajantri also stressed the importance of safeguarding government lands from encroachment.

During the meeting, progress in various departmental schemes was reviewed.

The DM urged for timely action on applications at block and zonal offices and emphasized the reach of government schemes to all eligible beneficiaries.

Special attention was given to worker safety under MNREGA schemes, and a call was made for increased human-powered employment over machines.

The completion of 116 Anganwadi centers was noted, and their operational status was discussed.

Progress on the Birsa Irrigation Well Augmentation Scheme and Birsa Green Village Scheme was reviewed, with instructions to hasten work and extend benefits to deserving groups.

Further directives included the cancellation of ration cards for urban dwellers not collecting rations for six months and ensuring efficient delivery under the Postman Scheme.

Displeasure was expressed over delays in the PM Awas Yojana-Rural second installment, prompting instructions for expedited payments.

Updates were sought on the list of new pensioners under the Social Security Department.

Schemes such as Birsa Awas, CMEGP, and Chief Minister Medical Grant under ITDA were also reviewed.

In the drinking water department, the completion of the Kanas water supply scheme and progress on the Bangurda scheme were acknowledged.

The DM plans to inspect these during his field visit.

Mr. Bhajantri also focused on the use of toilets, especially by community leaders and public representatives, under the Swachh Bharat Mission.

He mentioned conducting surprise checks during his field visits.

Issues regarding the allotment of Zilla Parishad shops were discussed, aiming to resolve any problems related to basic amenities.

The Revenue Department’s pending mutations and land transfers were reviewed, along with encroachment issues.

In the agriculture sector, the DM emphasized extending KCC benefits beyond agricultural farmers to include cattle rearers, fish farmers, and others.
