JAMSHEDPUR – The captivating performances of various tribal groups marked the second evening of Samvaad 2023.

Dancers from the Muria Gond tribe of Chhattisgarh presented the Kaksad dance, a ritualistic performance in reverence to the divine.

The Apatani group from Arunachal Pradesh performed their ‘Ho, Ho’ chorus, a tribute to their annual harvest and livestock.

The Dangi Bhil tribe from Gujarat engaged the audience with their vibrant folk-dance.

In the realm of cinema, tribal filmmakers gathered to discuss the intricacies of their craft.

Participants of the SKS National Short Film competition, a feature of Samvaad, showcased their films, underscoring the event’s focus on storytelling and creativity.

The Tribal Culture Centre in Sonari hosted insightful dialogues on preserving India’s tribal wisdom and customs.

Sourav Roy, CEO of Tata Steel Foundation, underlined the importance of the Samvaad theme ‘Walk with Me. He emphasized the role of year-round initiatives in shaping the conclave and celebrating tribal culture.

The ‘Mural of the Story’ session at Jamshedpur Nature Trail, moderated by Tata Steel Foundation’s team, highlighted the fusion of handicrafts, art, and culture.

Artisans from across India contributed their insights, enriching the dialogue.

Samvaad’s second day, themed 10tak, traced the transformative journeys of individuals through challenging experiences.

Participants from previous Tribal Leadership Programmes joined the akhra session, sharing inspiring stories that reflect the realities of India’s tribes.

Samvaad 2023, initiated on November 15 at various locations in Jamshedpur, continues to celebrate and delve into the depths of tribal identity and heritage.
