Gandhi Maidan Yoga Session Energizes Elders

In a move to promote health and wellness among the elderly, Tata Steel’s Sports Department conducted a rejuvenating Yoga session at Gandhi Maidan, with a significant turnout of local senior citizens participating actively in the event.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a serene morning at Gandhi Maidan, echoes of tranquility paired with enthusiastic participation marked a special Yoga session, directed by JRD Tata Sports complex’s esteemed Yoga trainer, Arvind Prasad.

The event, a part of the Senior Citizen Fun & Fitness league series, witnessed about 50 spirited seniors engaging in the ancient practice of Yoga, emphasizing Tata Steel’s commitment to community wellness.

The gathering was graced by the presence of Kamal Kishore, the respected former deputy superintendent of police (traffic) of Jamshedpur, and Mukul Vinayak Choudhary, the Chief of Tata Steel Sports, along with a supportive cast from the sports department.

The attendees included individuals like Neelam Kumari, Hasan Imam, and Dinesh Rakshit, each contributing to the event’s success.

In a heartfelt ceremony, Nanak Singh and Renu Devi were honored with awards for their exemplary performance in the male and female categories.

Celebrations continued as octogenarians Nawal Kishore Thakur and Joyshree Chakraborty received special recognition, embodying the spirit of vitality and ageless enthusiasm.

Rewinding to October, Tata Steel had successfully launched a Badminton league, specifically tailored for the senior citizens, cementing its role as a pivotal force in fostering active lifestyles among the aging population of Jamshedpur.
