Former HCL CEO Vineet Nair underscores the importance of innovation for startups at XLRI’s festival, Ensemble-Valhalla.
JAMSHEDPUR – While addressing the students of XLRI during the inaugural ceremony of Ensemble-Valhalla, Vineet Nair, a distinguished alumnus of XLRI and ex-CEO of HCL Technology, emphasized the paramount importance of innovation for startups.
Held at the XLRI Auditorium, the three-day festival began with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the distinguished guests, including Mr. Nair.
During his address as the chief guest, Nair posed a significant query to the students: whether they wished to be employed or aspired to launch their own startups. He stressed the importance for job seekers to introspect if their chosen profession aligns with their passion. "Close your eyes and ponder whether your work brings you joy, for that is the cornerstone of success," Nair remarked.
He drew a vivid analogy, comparing startup entrepreneurs to dogs on the hunt. "Just as a dog sniffs and traces the path a thief took, startup founders should first establish a clear direction and pursue it," said Nair.
He further motivated the students by responding to their queries and also reminisced about his time at XLRI.
