Scott Cooper opens up after 0-0 draw against Punjab FC, discussing team tactics, missed opportunities, and referee’s decisions.

JAMSHEDPUR – Scott Cooper, the man at the helm of Jamshedpur FC, expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s goalless draw against Punjab FC at The Furnace.

“No, I’m not satisfied with the result,” Cooper told the media, emphasizing the numerous opportunities his team squandered.

He lamented his side’s inability to convert chances, saying, “We let Punjab off the hook a little bit.”

Despite his criticism, Cooper pointed out that his team’s defensive strategies were on point.

“Tactically, we’re strong. We just need people to exhibit that last bit of composure and finish,” he added.

On the Physicality of the Game:

Cooper attributed the physical nature of the match to Punjab FC’s tactic of sending long balls, causing numerous aerial duels.

The coach also took a swipe at the match referee for halting the game multiple times for players allegedly suffering from cramps, calling the referee “naive.”

On Squad Choices:

Scott Cooper revealed that Ritwik, benched for the match, was part of a broader strategy to acclimatize him to game conditions.

Jeremy and Pronay’s absence was noted, and Cooper mentioned their vital role, stating, “Losing one is bad enough, but losing both of them is even harder.”

The coach looked forward to the upcoming match against NorthEast United, hinting that fans may see more of Ritwik and hopefully the return of key players.
