The prestigious trophy for the Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2023 arrives in Seraikela, as the state of Jharkhand gets ready to host international teams in Ranchi.
SERAIKELA – The air is thick with excitement as Jharkhand prepares to host the Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2023 in Ranchi between October 27 and November 5.
The champion and runner-up trophies are being showcased in 24 districts across Jharkhand to ramp up enthusiasm and publicity for the upcoming international event.
Teams from India, Japan, China, Malaysia, Thailand, and South Korea are set to compete, turning the spotlight on Ranchi and by extension, the state of Jharkhand.
The much-anticipated trophy made its appearance in Seraikela on Tuesday, where it was warmly received by Pradip Kumar Gagrai, the District Commissioner, Deputy Development Commissioner, and other officials including Sandeep Kumar Doraiburu, the ITDA Director, and Ram Krishna Kumar, among others.
Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla, who was present at the unveiling ceremony, emphasized the rich history of hockey in the nation and its significance within the state of Jharkhand.
He expressed hope that the championship will not only invigorate local talent but also contribute to a healthier sports culture in the state.
