JAMSHEDPUR – At the end, Mumbai City FC proved too good for Jamshedpur FC. The youngsters of Jamshedpur FC must have got a valuable lesson. And surely that would help them in their next match.

It is not that Jamshedpur FC did not try hard. They did. But there was a clear lack of a plan to take their moves to a logical conclusion. Inexperience was too visible.

In a Group B match of the 132nd Durand Cup taking place at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharathi Krirangan, Mumbai City FC easily defeated Jamshedpur FC 5-0 to earn their second straight win.

With this win, Mumbai City moves to the top of the group.

Alberto Noguera, Yoell Van Nieff, and Vikram Partap Singh all scored for the Islanders, while Jorge Pereyra Diaz scored twice.

In less than 20 seconds after Phurba Lachenpa saved a shot from Bivan Laskar, the youthful players of Jamshedpur FC forced a save out of him.

Mumbai soon got into the game and began to play their typical brand of football.

Greg Stewart’s free shot struck the crossbar, and Mehtab Singh made JFC goalkeeper Mohit Singh Dhami make a save.

In the seventh minute, Jorge Pereyra Diaz scored for Mumbai.

Vikram Partap Singh, after a beautiful exchange between Greg Stewart and him in the right, found Pereyra Diaz free inside the box, and she finished it off with the utmost ease to give the Islanders the lead.

In the 14th minute, Pereyra Diaz scored again to increase their advantage.

After a fantastic one-two with Alberto Noguera, Diaz finished beautifully after receiving a cutback cross from Bipin Singh.

The youthful players of Jamshedpur FC were under increasing pressure from Mumbai City.

Mohit Singh Dhami made several outstanding stops between the goal posts to preserve the 2-0 lead.

Alberto Noguera scored the third goal for the Islanders rather quickly.

Once again forming a one-two inside the area, Pereyra Diaz and Noguera chipped the ball sweetly over Mohit Dhami.

The Islanders came out strong to open the second half.

In the first minute of the second half, they scored their fourth goal of the game.

After seven minutes, Mumbai launched another assault and scored their fifth goal.

Greg Stewart crossed the ball into a favorable area after Jamshedpur lost possession of it in their own half, and Vikram Partap Singh headed it in with a diving effort.
