During anti-crime operations, Kapali Police seized a significant amount of poppy seeds and arrested two smugglers, enhancing the security efforts.
SERAIKELA – The Kapali OP police of the Kharsawan district achieved a significant victory in their anti-crime operations.
In a targeted operation near Pudisilli, the police managed to intercept a blue color cargo auto, which tried to evade them during routine checking.
The cargo auto, bearing the number JH05DA-1322, was found to contain about 800 kg of Poppy seeds, also known as Posto seeds.
Two individuals, identified as Santosh Kumar and Nilesh Kumar, were detained in connection with the seized contraband.
Both are said to hail from Chatra and were residing in a rented house in Bhuiandih, Jamshedpur, at the time of their arrest.
The Kapali OP In-charge, Sandeep, reported that both individuals were involved in the illegal trade of selling taxed posto and were earning significant profits from the high-priced sales in Jamshedpur.
Following a thorough interrogation, both suspects were sent to judicial custody.
