Jamshedpur Women’s University Marks End of World Breastfeeding Week 2023 with Ceremony

The closing ceremony of World Breastfeeding Week 2023 at Jamshedpur Women’s University highlights continued awareness. The event included quizzes, essays, and 120 students in competitions.

JAMSHEDPUR – The closing ceremony of World Breastfeeding Week 2023 was hosted by the Department of Home Science and Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics of Jamshedpur Women’s University.

The event marked a significant collaboration between various faculties, aiming to raise awareness about breastfeeding and its importance for working women.

The Chief Guest, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta, Jamshedpur Women’s University, expressed her congratulations to the department and urged them to continue with such awareness programs in the future.

She also awarded a citation to the organizers, acknowledging their hard work and commitment to the cause.

At the beginning of the program, Dr. Rama Subramaniam, Head of the Department of Home Science, welcomed the chief guest by presenting quince.

She shared the details of the competitions organized during the World Breastfeeding Week, including quiz, essay, slogan, and Accent Four competition, in which 120 girl students actively participated.

Dr. Subramaniam further highlighted the special contribution of Dr. Upasana from the United Kingdom, Birmingham, who educated the students about various techniques to facilitate breastfeeding among working women.

The program was successfully conducted by Dr. Pushp Lata from the Home Science department and Mrs. Sanchita Guha from the CND department, working in unison to ensure a meaningful and inspiring event.

The university’s DSW Dr. Kishwar Ara Proctor, Dr. Sudhir Kumar Sahu, Finance Officer Dr. Javed Ahmed, DO Dr. Salomi Kujur, IQAC Director Dr. Ratna Mitra, Dean Commerce Faculty Dr. Deepa Sharan, Dr. Gloria Purti, Rizwana, Dr. Amrita, Dr. Shehla Jabeen, Dr. Aparna, and a large gathering of students contributed to the success of the program.

Together, they celebrated the conclusion of World Breastfeeding Week, leaving a lasting impression and commitment to continue promoting awareness and support for breastfeeding.
