Jamshedpur police arrests five people in connection to stone pelting at Sitaramdera, raids houses for illegal liquor. Campaign against illegal activities continues.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Police arrested five individuals and sent them to jail yesterday in connection with stone pelting and creating a ruckus at the Sitaramdera police station.
SSP Prabhat Kumar Dhalbhum’s SDO Piyush Sina, along with the entire team, conducted foot marches in Sitaramdera Oraon township late last night.
During the operation, the police raided several houses in the township and found evidence of illegal country liquor, which has since been handed over to the excise department.
Apart from the discovery of the illicit distillery, the police also checked vehicles parked on the road.
In some cases, residents were called out to open the vehicles for inspection, while a car with a police number plate was sent to the police line.

Although no one was arrested during the raid itself, SSP Prabhat Kumar made it clear that the campaign against illegal liquor will continue.
It may be added here that a team from the district administration visited the township on Monday night to curb the illegal liquor business operating in Oraon township under Sitaramdera police station.
This team included various officials from JNAC, the Excise Department, and other police authorities.
The police warned people involved in the illegal business and appealed for them to discontinue this activity.
The SSP emphasized that Oraon Basti is notorious throughout the city for its illegal liquor business, where people are involved in both consumption and distribution till late hours.
As part of a continuous effort to halt this illicit activity, appeals are being made to those involved to abandon this trade and to take advantage of government schemes to lead better lives.
Some local leaders who were involved in surrounding the police station late on Sunday night have been charged, and some have been arrested and jailed.
The SSP has appealed to the township’s residents to abandon this illegal enterprise to enhance the local environment and allow their children to focus on education.
The district administration is taking the initiative to link these individuals to various programs, assisting them in earning a lawful living.
