Woman and Lover Arrested in Husband’s Murder Case in Seraikela

Seraikela police arrest woman and her lover in husband’s murder; shooters Ashok Laik and Meghnath Kumbhkar still at large.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a shocking revelation, Seraikela police station has confirmed that the wife of the deceased, Sahdev Mahato, was indeed responsible for his murder.

Sulekha Mahato, the wife, and her lover Jaysen Kumbhkar, have been arrested and sent to judicial custody in connection with the case.

Despite this significant development, the search is still on for the two shooters involved, Ashok Laik and Meghnath Kumbhkar.

Station in-charge Nitish Kumar shared the details of the case.

During the course of their investigation, it was discovered that Sulekha Mahato was having an illicit affair with Jaisen Kumbhkar, which Sahdev Mahato had come to suspect.

When he confronted the pair, they decided to have him eliminated and paid a sum of INR 50,000 to the shooters, with an advance of INR 30,000.

Sahdev Mahato was shot and killed on June 20 between Jhapragudha-Tentoposi, and his body was recovered the following day.

Both Sulekha and Jaisen have admitted their involvement in the crime, according to the station in-charge.
