Jamshedpur Celebrates 4th Monday of Sawan with Devotion

Devotees across Jamshedpur express unwavering devotion to Lord Shiva in the month of Sawan.

JAMSHEDPUR – As the holy month of Shravan draws towards its end, Jamshedpur city witnessed a surge of devotion with Shiv Bhakts from all walks of life gathering to observe the fourth Monday.

In honour of Lord Shiva, the revered deity, the city’s sacred temples were bustling with enthusiastic devotees performing rituals and seeking divine blessings.

The spiritual ambiance was amplified with hymns and the fragrance of incense. Temples across Sakchi, Jugsalai, Kadma, and Sonari were filled with devotees performing the ‘Rudra Abhishek’ and chanting the ‘Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra.

Many devotees also observed a day-long fast as per traditional practices, abstaining from food and water until the evening rituals.

Unity and spiritual harmony filled the atmosphere as individuals of diverse backgrounds came together to partake in the divine celebrations.

The profound bond between Lord Shiva and his worshippers was reflected in the unwavering faith and devotion.

Devotees, young and old, adorned in traditional attire, offered flowers, ‘bilva’ leaves, ‘rudraksha’ beads, and holy water to the sacred ‘Shiva Lingam’. Chants of ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ reverberated, uplifting the spiritual essence of the occasion.

Devotees shared their prayers and expressed gratitude for the divine protection and blessings. "Participating in the rituals on the fourth Monday of Shrawan fills our hearts with immense joy and devotion," shared a devotee, highlighting the sacred opportunity to connect with Lord Shiva.

In addition to temple celebrations, families organised ‘Kanwad Yatras’ and community gatherings to enhance the spiritual experience. ‘Shiv Parvati Kalyan Utsavs’ fostered unity and camaraderie among the devotees.

On the fourth Monday of Sawan, the entire city was filled with devotees performing Jalabhishek of Lord Bholenath at various pagodas in Jamshedpur.

The grand Kalash Yatra, organised by the Sri Sri Shiv Hanuman Mandir Committee at Babudih, was a highlight, with hundreds of devotees performing Jalabhishek after taking water from the Subarnarekha river ghat.
