JAMSHEDPUR – A rave review by Scott Cooper, the newly appointed head coach of Jamshedpur FC, marked the recent arrival of defender Provat Lakra.
Cooper highlighted Lakra’s qualities – his technical skills, speed, quick recovery, and excellent crossing skills.
The coach stressed on the fact that Lakra, being of a perfect age, having substantial ISL experience and the ability to play in both full back positions, fits perfectly into the profile of players the club is interested in.
Lakra received appreciation for his significant role in NorthEast United FC, where he participated in almost all games.
The new Men of Steel member, originally from Kalyani, West Bengal, started his journey as a young player with United SC.
He made his I-League Second Division debut with Southern Samity in the 2016-17 season, followed by his significant move to the Hero Indian Super League with NorthEast United FC in 2018.
After a successful loan stint at South Indian team Gokulam Kerala in the Hero I-League, Lakra has now set foot in the Steel city.
At 25, Lakra can adapt to the situation and play as a left back or a right back, ensuring a strong line of defense for Jamshedpur FC.
The footballer has expressed immense excitement about his move, considering it a "great dream".
He also appreciated the support provided by the Tata Football Academy (TFA) to young players and acknowledged the presence of experienced players like Pronay Halder.
