Husband Arrested Following Discovery of Victim’s Note

A case of suspected domestic violence ends in tragedy as a young woman takes her own life, leaving behind damning evidence against her spouse.

JAMSHEDPUR – A 28-year-old woman, P Dhibar, was found dead in her Khutadih Harijan Basti home, having taken her own life in what appears to be the culmination of prolonged domestic abuse.

"The victim left a suicide note detailing severe physical and sexual abuse by her husband," stated a Sonari police official. "We’ve taken immediate action based on this evidence."

K Dhibar, the deceased’s husband and an auto driver by profession, was promptly arrested and charged with abetment to suicide following the discovery of the note written in Bengali.

The couple, originally from Bandkudra, West Bengal, had been living in a rented house in Sonari. Their relationship was reportedly tumultuous, marked by frequent disputes.

"The house owner alerted us when he noticed unusual silence from the victim’s residence," the police official added. "Upon investigation, we discovered the tragic scene."

P Dhibar is survived by a daughter currently in the care of her maternal uncle. The incident has shocked the local community, bringing issues of domestic violence to the forefront.

Authorities are urging anyone experiencing domestic abuse to seek help, emphasizing the availability of support services in the city.

This case highlights the critical need for increased awareness and intervention in domestic abuse situations to prevent such tragic outcomes.
