Tata Manipal Medical College hosts the official inauguration of the Volunteer Service Organisation (VSO) and Student Research Forum (SRF), both aimed at fostering growth and skill development among students.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) hosted the official launch of the Volunteer Service Organisation (VSO), MTMC Chapter, a branch of MAHE, and the Student Research Forum (SRF) on Monday.
The VSO-MAHE was established on September 17, 2007, to provide students, teachers, and their spouses at Manipal with opportunities to lead meaningful lives by aiding those in need. It serves as a platform that promotes personal growth, skill development, experience, teamwork, and social and organizational progression, alongside helping the underprivileged.
Similarly, the MAHE SRF launched the Manipal Tata Medical College Student Research Forum, which is one of the pillars supporting MAHE as an Institution of Eminence. Dr. Niti Nipun Sharma, Pro VC, emphasized the importance of research and its correlation with academic success and societal contributions.
The opening ceremony included the lighting of a candle by Dr. Raguram Tata, Associate Professor of Strategic Management and Director of the Father Arrupe Centre for Ecology and Sustainability at XLRI Jamshedpur.
Other attendees included Dr Sharath K Rao, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Health Sciences MAHE, Dr Dilip G Naik, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Mangalore campus, Dr Anup Naha, Chief Coordinator VSO MAHE, Dr Abhishek Chaturvedi, Secretary VSO MAHE, Dr Pradeep Kumar G, Dean MTMC, and Dr Rajiva Dwivedi, Director of Academic Administration and Quality.
The event was enriched by cultural performances from MBBS students Mr. Vikas Thakur and Enakshi. Dr. Khushboo thanked all the medical professionals and event coordinators who contributed to the successful launch of the Volunteer Service Organisation (VSO).
