Jamshedpur Hosts Important Meets on Voter List Update for 2024

Meetings stress the importance of extensive outreach campaigns and the physical verification of voters for a thorough and error-free voter list update.

JAMSHEDPUR – Two crucial meetings concerning the updating of the voter list program-2024 took place at the District Collectorate Hall.

Various officials, including the Additional Chief Electoral Officer Jaydeep Tigga, Director NEEP Jyotsna Singh, SDPO-Sub-District Magistrate Dipu Kumar, SDO Ghatsila Satyavir Rajak, and Assistant Electoral Officer Priyanka Singh, attended the meetings.

The meetings were aimed at conducting thorough outreach campaigns and reaching out to every voter in the ten booths of all six Assembly constituencies where voter turnout was the lowest in the district during the previous elections.

During the voter list special revision program, all involved staff members were instructed to verify the physical existence of every voter to ensure an error-free and clear voter list.

The officials called for the removal of names of dead or moved voters and the addition of new voters.

In a separate meeting with the administrators of private schools and colleges, it was declared that young students who will turn 18 on January 1, April 1, July 1, or October 1, 2024, will be eligible to fill out Form-6.

The Special Summary Revision of the Voter List-2024 aims to add, remove, correct names and addresses, update voter photographs, and manage dead or moved voters.

School administrators were instructed to register all eligible young people as voters using the respective forms through the BLOs.

Voters can also apply online using the Voter Helpline app or through the Election Commission website, voters.eci.gov.in. For any election-related information, voters can call the toll-free number 1950.
