OBC Railway Karmachaari Sangh Pushes for Operation of MEMU Train Between Badampahar and Rourkela
The OBC Railway Karmchaari Sangh demands the initiation of a MEMU train service between Badampahar and Rourkela, promising benefits for residents and relief for railway workers.
JAMSHEDPUR – The OBC Railway Karmchaari Sangh (OBCRKS), Chakradharpur, has made a compelling appeal for the operation of a MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) train between Badampahar and Rourkela.
A delegation of the OBCRKS presented this demand ahead of the visit by Anil Kumar, General Manager of South Eastern Railway, to Chakradharpur in West Singhbhum on Thursday.
Krishna Prasad, General Secretary of OBCRKS, was the key spokesperson who apprised the visiting general manager of the long-standing demand for the operation of the MEMU train through Tatanagar.
Prasad stated, "We have been asking for a MEMU train for a long time. We urgently need one running between Badampahar and Rourkela under the Chakradharpur railway division, which is one of the top revenue-generating divisions in terms of goods collection."
He further added that the initiation of this train service would not only be advantageous to the residents of the two steel plant cities but also provide significant relief for the numerous railway workers required to commute between these locations, especially between Tatanagar and Rourkela.
It’s reported that the general manager of SE Railway acknowledged the delegation’s request and committed to considering it.
