Family Protests Inaction in Suicide Case in Kamalpur in Seraikela Sini

Angry relatives of a woman who allegedly committed suicide in Seraikela have gheraoed the local police station, protesting inaction against the accused.

SARAIKELA – The family members of 21-year-old Firoza Khatun, who allegedly committed suicide on 17 July, have gheraoed the Sini police station in Seraikela, protesting the lack of action against the accused.

Firoza’s family had previously filed a case of murder against her husband Mohammad Saddam, her mother Rajiya Khatun, and her brother-in-law Gulzar at the Sini police station.

Accusing Sini police station in-charge of inaction and alleged collusion with the accused, the family has demanded either the arrest and jail for the accused or to hand them over to the family.

Despite four days passing since the incident, the family alleges that the accused has not been sent to jail, further aggravating their anger.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Seraikela police station in-charge Nitish Kumar and Circle Inspector Ram Anup Mahato have started an investigation into the matter.

The family’s gherao on the Sini police station continues at the time of reporting.
