Dumka witnesses the beginning of the holy Malmas Purushottam month after 19 years, coinciding with the State Shravani Fair 2023.
DUMKA – On the occasion of the State Shravani Fair 2023, after a long gap of 19 years, the holy month of Sawan coincides with the month of Malmas Purushottam.
This special occasion has also marked the beginning of the Bangla Shravani Mela from the 18th of July.
Both the Malmas Purushottam month and the Bangla Shravan will continue till the 16th of August.
After the end of Malmas, the second half of the Shravan month will resume from the 17th to the 31st of August.
According to religious beliefs, Purushottam month has a special significance.
Yesterday marked the second Monday of Shravan, which saw a huge gathering of devotees at Baba Basukinath Dham.
Even today, a large crowd of Kanwariyas has been seen at the temple since morning.
