Senior Citizen Arrested in Azad Market for Selling Fake Lottery Tickets

A 65-year-old man was arrested under Telco police jurisdiction for selling counterfeit lottery tickets in Azad Market.

JAMSHEDPUR – Police detained B Dutta, a 65-year-old man known also as Gl Dutta, under the jurisdiction of the Telco police station at Azad Market for vending bogus lottery tickets.

Bablu, a resident of East Plant Basti in Burmamines, had been selling these tickets in the local area for several days.

The police have confiscated 200 forged lottery tickets, a scooter, and Rs 3400 in cash from Bablu’s possession.

Based on undisclosed intelligence, the police found Bablu suspiciously selling lottery tickets in Azad Market.

This led to his arrest on Wednesday for conducting an illegal lottery operation.

Subsequently, on Thursday, he was remanded in judicial custody.
