Healthcare Neglect Exposed in Home District of State Minister in Seraikela

Despite being the home and in-charge district of State Ministers, patients in Seraikela’s government hospital suffer due to neglect and poor healthcare system.

SERAIKELA – A startling scene of neglect and inhumanity has been uncovered at Seraikela’s government hospital, raising concerns about the state of healthcare in the region.

The district hospital, once a Sadar Hospital now converted into a Referral Hospital, has displayed a shocking indifference towards its patients.

This callousness occurs despite Seraikela being the home district of the state’s Transport Minister and also being under the charge of the Health Minister.

The incident involves a patient who arrived at Sadar Hospital following an accident.

Not only was the patient denied treatment, but he was also not even provided with a bed and had to wait on the floor.

While the patient was left writhing in pain, the attending doctor was reportedly resting comfortably in his air-conditioned room.

The situation only changed when Kayam Hussain, deputy head of Gamharia, arrived at the hospital.

The doctors promptly woke up from their indifference, treated the patient, and made a quick referral.

The state of the district’s healthcare system, despite the attention of two ministers, raises serious questions about the direction of Jharkhand and the actions of its officials and leaders.

Upon learning about this, Deputy Commissioner Arwa Rajkamal reacted strongly.

An order has been issued for the on-duty doctor to face a show-cause notice and a deduction of one day’s salary.

It remains to be seen whether this order will be enforced and how the healthcare system responds to this critique.
