Martyr Status Demanded for Revolutionary Nirmal Mahto by Jharkhand Andolankari Sangharsh Morcha

Jharkhand Andolankari Sangharsh Morcha petitions for revolutionary Nirmal Mahto’s recognition as a martyr, highlighting the delay and failures of Jharkhand Movement Identification Commission.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhand Andolankari Sangharsh Morcha has submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner for sending that to the Chief Minister of the state.

The memorandum demands that the state grant martyr status to the revolutionary Nirmal Mahto, a key figure in the Jharkhand movement.

The Morcha highlights the fact that it has been 22 years since Jharkhand became a separate state, 12 years since the Jharkhand Agitating Symbol Commission was formed, and 36 years since Nirmal Mahto’s death, yet his martyr’s status is still not officially recognized.

The group alleges that the current format of the Jharkhand Movement Identification Commission makes it impossible to select martyrs.

As such, they urge that Nirmal Mahto be granted the status of martyr as soon as possible.

This demand has been formally presented to the state’s Chief Minister via the Deputy Commissioner.
