Parsudih’s Clogged Drains Cleaned, Residents Relieved
Waterlogged homes in Parsudih see relief as BJP Kisan Morcha Vice President Rajkumar Singh spearheads a cleanup operation.
JAMSHEDPUR – Residents in Parsudih’s Makdampur Munshi Mohalla, Mahato Para, and Machhua Para faced severe inconveniences due to clogged drain waters that entered several homes over several days.
Relief came in the form of social worker, former Zila Parishad Vice President, and State BJP Kisan Morcha Vice President Rajkumar Singh, who led a cleanup operation at his personal expense.
Immediate Action Taken
Pressing a motor pump into service, the drains were finally decongested and cleaned.
Following this, bleaching and anti-larva powder were sprayed in the affected localities.
East Singhbhum Zila Parishad Vice President Pankaj and Govindpur Zila Parishad member Dr Paritosh Singh were also present during the entire operation.
Concerns of Water Logging
Anticipating the hazards of water logging, Rajkumar Singh contacted Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav and Tatanagar Railway Management officials two days prior to have the drain’s outlet cleared.
The task required 20 trained sanitary department personnel and took 12 hours to clear the blockage.
With the assistance of Poclain and JCB machines, and two days of continuous work, the stagnant and overflowing drain water was finally cleared.
Drainage Issues Addressed
It’s worth mentioning that the accumulated rainwater had caused the drain to overflow, with water entering 150 residences in the Makdampur localities.
The ensuing damage to household goods and loss of livestock added to the residents’ troubles.
Several families had to relocate to safer places, and the authorities’ attitude was less than helpful, despite concerns being raised about the drainage system prior to the onset of the monsoon.
