JAMSHEDPUR – Organizations representing Bengali community in Kolhan have expressed their gratitude towards former Chief Minister and current Rajya Sabha MP Shibu Soren for his supportive statements.
Simultaneously, these organizations demanded immediate measures to uplift the Bengali language.
According to these groups, many railway stations in Kolhan have removed inscriptions in Bengali, and teaching in Bengali has ceased.
This led to protests from Bengali-speaking community members in Kolhan, including Bang Bandhu of Jamshedpur.
Shibu Soren has previously expressed his concern over these issues and has described Bengali speakers as the original residents of Jharkhand.
In response to his statements, Bengali-speaking community members have expressed their gratitude and demanded further measures to uplift the Bengali language and protect its rights.
While grateful for Soren’s support, these groups intend to continue their protests.
They have planned a demonstration at the Jamshedpur district headquarters on the 4th of July to further advocate for their demands.
