30 Trains Canceled on 18th June, 2 shortened, 2 diverted

Due to maintenance work, 30 passenger trains on the Bengal-Odisha railway line have been regulated and canceled on June 18th, impacting thousands of passengers across multiple states.

JAMSHEDPUR – Seventeen days post the train accident in Balasore, the operation of 30 passenger trains on the Bengal-Odisha railway line is still disrupted.

According to a letter issued on Friday, the South East Zone has issued orders to cancel these trains on Sunday, June 18th.

This move is set to affect thousands of passengers from Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and South India, including Bengal-Odisha, as the train cancellations continue in the aftermath of the accident.

Here is the list of the trains regulated on 18.06.2023 due to track maintenance works at Bahanaga Bazar Station of Kharagpur-Bhadrak Section in Kharagpur Division.

Several trains including the Balasore – Bhubaneswar MEMU Special, Digha-Puri Express, Howrah-Puri Shatabdi Express, Howrah – Bhadrak Express, Jaleswar – Puri MEMU Special, and Kharagpur – Khurda Road Express will not operate on June 18th.

Some trains will have their journeys shortened on June 18th due to the aforementioned issues.

For instance, the Kharagpur-Bhadrak MEMU Special journey will be short terminated at Balasore.

Conversely, the Bhadrak-Kharagpur MEMU Special journey will have its origin from Balasore.

Furthermore, due to a Traffic-cum-Power Block in the Howrah-Barddhaman Chord Section for work on the Road Over Bridge in the Dankuni-Kharagpur Section of Eastern Railway from 15.06.2023 to 04.07.2023, several trains will be diverted.

The diversion affects Dibrugarh-Kanniyakumari Express, Guwahati-SMVT Bengaluru Express, Silchar-Coimbatore Express, Silchar-Thiruvananthapuram Express, Guwahati-Secunderabad Express, and the New Tinsukia-SMVT Bengaluru Express on specific dates.

These announcements come in light of the ongoing attempts to restore normalcy after the devastating train accident.
