XLRI Crowned as ‘Pioneering School’ in Global Positive Impact Rating

XLRI achieves top status as a ‘Pioneering School’ in the international Positive Impact Rating of Business Schools, marking its remarkable global impact.

JAMSHEDPUR – XLRI, the premier Indian B-school, has been heralded as the Best Business School in the “Pioneering School” category in the international Positive Impact Ranking of Business Schools.

XLRI joins the elite list of six other top-tier business schools, achieving the highest level 5 ranking.

This distinguished group includes six B-schools from Asia and one from South Asia.

The Positive Impact Rating 2023 report was presented by Professor Thomas Dielich and Laurieen Dietrich, Vice President cum PIR Board Member of Oikos International at the PRME Global Forum in New York.

The rating saw the participation of 71 business schools from 25 countries.

XLRI’s consistent performance in Positive Impact Rating

For the fourth consecutive year, XLRI participated in the Positive Impact Rating. After achieving the notable Level 3 position in 2020, the institute has consistently attained the highest Level 5 status. Laurieen Dietrich, Vice President of Oikos International and PIR Board Member, underlined the essential role of business schools in social or environmental value creation, stating, “We need to prepare students with competencies that empower them to positively impact business, society and the world.”

How the Positive Impact Rating survey was conducted

The rating survey questioned students across seven relevant impact dimensions, including governance and culture of the school, study programmes, learning methods, student support, the institution’s role model status, and public engagement. The school’s overall PIR score, drawn from the students’ responses, classified the schools into five levels. XLRI was recognized at the pinnacle, as a “Pioneer School”, in the rating that evaluated the business school’s efforts towards addressing social challenges, sustainable development at a global level.

XLRI’s sustained efforts towards social and environmental challenges

The Positive Impact Rating survey was conducted online, with data collection managed by Team Oikos and a team from the institute.

Various methods were employed for data collection, including email and social media campaigns.

These efforts illuminated XLRI’s dedication to confronting social, environmental challenges and its push for sustainable development. Post data submission and comparative assessment with international business schools, the results were published.

Father S. George, S.J., Director, XLRI, expressed his delight over the institution’s achievement, stating, “At XLRI, we always value the efforts and contribution of our students towards creating a sustainable future with the betterment of humanity. We are delighted that XLRI has achieved the highest PIR rating i.e., Level 5 for three consecutive years. As XLRI completes 75 years of its establishment, our students continue their global vision to create a prosperous world.”
