Tata Steel UISL celebrated World Environment Day with the conclusion of its 15-day Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) campaign, tree planting activities, and discussions on plastic pollution.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel UISL celebrated World Environment Day on Monday, June 5, by concluding a 15-day campaign focusing on Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) at Gopal Maidan. The day was marked with plastic plugging activities at various locations including Kasidih, Ramdas Bhatta, Bistupur, Sonari, CH Area, Baridih, and Burma mines.
The event was designed to address the urgent issue of plastic pollution and promote sustainable practices. Esteemed guests, experts, and stakeholders gathered to discuss collective actions for a cleaner and greener environment.
East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, served as the Guest of Honour. Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL, also participated in the event.
Tata Steel UISL was honored with a certificate of appreciation by JNAC for its performance in the Indian Swachhata League 2022. The award was received by the managing director of TSUISL.
As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), the annual Swachh Survekshan competition includes city-wide contests such as Swachh School, Hospital, and Hotel. JNAC awarded the best-performing school, hotel, hospital, and brand ambassador.
Furthermore, a tree plantation drive was conducted where 1515 trees of 26 species were planted at CRM Bara and New Bara Flats. Mamta Priyadarshi, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Dalbhum, attended the occasion as the chief guest, and Chanakya Chaudhary and Ritu Raj Sinha took part in the plantation activities.
Tata Steel UISL reasserted its commitment to environmental sustainability and pledged to continue efforts aimed at combating plastic pollution. The successful conclusion of the RRR Conclave and the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban campaign emphasized the company’s leadership role in environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
