BJP Mahila Morcha burns Hemant Soren’s effigy in Adityapur

Adityapur: Seraikela-Kharsawan district unit of Jharkhand BJP Mahila Morcha has launched an agitation against the Chief Minister Hemant Soren and burnt his effigy on Sunday in Adityapur. The workers of BJP Mahila Morcha also demanded resignation of the Chief Minister.

Later, the BJP leader Rashmi Sahu said that women are not safe in Jharkhand and incidents of sexual attack on women are being reported in the state almost everyday. She alleged that even the Chief Minister has been facing allegations of sexual harassment. She said that the Chief Minister should tender his resignation in light of the allegations against him.

She said that more than 1200 women have been victims of sexual crimes during the last one year and this raises a question over the efficiency of the state government.

She said that a woman has levered allegations of sexual harassment against the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, seeing the gusto with which the BJP has been raising the issue of allegations against the Chief Minister, it is clear that the principal opposition party BJP has got a big issue in its hands to raise against the ruling alliance in the state. It would be interesting to see how the other constituents of the JMM-led ruling alliance, e.g. Congress and RJD react to the allegations made against the CM.

No response has come from the CM on the allegations made against him, however.
