CM Nitish Kumar Kicks Off Restoration of Darbhanga Air Force Station Ring Dam and Mithila Art Display

CM Nitish Kumar inaugurates ₹14.19 crore restoration of Darbhanga Air Force Station’s ring dam and reveals Mithila art display, promoting regional culture.

Patna – Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took a significant step towards enhancing flood protection and promoting regional art at the Darbhanga Air Force Station.

He officially inaugurated the restoration of the 11.84-kilometer long ring dam and the Mithila art display. This project, helmed by the Water Resources Department, has a budget of Rs 14 crore 19 lakh 22 thousand.

The project also involves the construction of a sluice gate on the dam to drain accumulated rainwater within the station premises. A PCC road was built over the entire length of the ring dam for continuous monitoring.

To promote the local culture and art of Mithila to arriving passengers, Mithila paintings have been displayed in mosaic art across various panels. Notably, paving block pitching of a 2-kilometer stretch on the dam slope and the Mithila artwork displayed on 10 panels at the runway main gate add a distinctive touch to the station’s beautification.

During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected seven of these panels and the newly built ring dam. Sanjay Agarwal, Secretary of the Water Resources Department, provided detailed information about the dam during the inspection.

Also present during this occasion were Water Resources Minister Sanjay Kumar Jha, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Secretary Anupam Kumar, Chief Engineer (Irrigation) Hari Narayan, Superintending Engineer (Irrigation) Brajesh Mohan, and Executive Engineer of the Flood Control Division in Darbhanga, Vikas Kumar.
