Jamshedpur – A potential disaster was narrowly avoided on Tuesday morning when a fire broke out on an electric pole at Milkhiram Road, Sakchi, in Jamshedpur city.

According to eyewitnesses, sparking was initially observed around 8 am, and within a few minutes, the pole was ablaze.

On seeing the flames and smoke billowing from the pole, local residents promptly alerted the electricity department, which in turn immediately cut off the power connection to the affected area. Fire department personnel arrived swiftly on the scene and brought the situation under control, preventing the fire from spreading and averting a potentially significant mishap.

Spectators reported that at the height of the incident, it appeared that a nearby shop might be engulfed by the flames.

However, thanks to the timely response of the fire department and the electricity department, a potentially severe incident was thwarted.
