6th IGU Jharkhand Amateur & Junior Open 2023 Wraps Up With Success

The 6th edition of the Indian Golf Union Jharkhand Amateur & Junior Open 2023 concludes at Golmuri Golf Course, marking a triumph for amateur and junior golfers.

Jamshedpur – The 6th edition of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Jharkhand Amateur & Junior Open 2023 successfully concluded at the Golmuri Golf Course today.

Esteemed figures including Mr DB Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Raw Materials Division, Tata Steel and Jamshedpur Golf Captain, and Mr RN Murthy, Managing Director, Tinplate and Chairman, Golmuri Golf Club, were present.

Mr Farzan Heerjee, Vice President, Indian Golf Union, also attended the event.

Addressing the attendees, Mr Ramam emphasized the values of focus and discipline imparted by golf.

He expressed delight at the significant participation of young golfers in this year’s tournament. Mr Murthy similarly lauded the efforts of the Indian Golf Union to develop golf at the grassroots level.

The two-day event witnessed over 41 players, aged between 7 to 60 years, competing in various categories.

After a closely fought match, Jamshedpur’s Mr Pratham Chaudhary emerged victorious in the IGU Jharkhand Amateur Open Category with a score of 137, while Mr Abhishek Mitra secured the runners-up position with a score of 152.

The IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour, initiated in 2018, has successfully cultivated a new generation of pro golfers. The top performers are invited to participate in the IGU’s Gentleman’s Tour.

In his concluding remarks, Mr Heerjee thanked the participants and organizers, appreciating the arrangements made by the Golmuri Golf Club. He specifically thanked Mr RN Murthy for his support throughout the event.
