Mango Municipal Corporation Cracks Down on Encroachments and Plastic Use; ₹19,000 Collected in Fines

Mango Municipal Corp raids against encroachment & plastic use; ₹19,000 in fines collected, trade licenses checked, building materials moved.

Jamshedpur – In a bid to maintain cleanliness and promote eco-friendly practices, the Mango Municipal Corporation launched a raid drive on Saturday against encroachment, single-use plastic, and the use of unlicensed building materials in the area.

The drive led to the seizure of 5 kg of plastic and the collection of ₹19,000 in fines from street vendors, shopkeepers, and establishment owners who were found violating the rules.

The corporation also checked trade licenses at various shops and imposed fines on those found operating without a valid license.

Additionally, traders who had stored building materials such as sand and bricks on the roadside were instructed to move them inside their premises.

They were also warned against leaving building materials on the roadside in the future.

Despite an ongoing, comprehensive campaign by the Mango Municipal Corporation over the last eight months, which includes continuous public announcements, single-use plastic items are still being found in shops across the area.

In response, the Executive Officer has issued instructions to cancel the vendor and trade licenses of any establishment caught using or distributing plastic items.

Present during the campaign were Nodal Officer, City Manager Rahul Kumar, Nishant Kumar, Dineshwar Yadav, and Nirmal Kumar, among other office workers.

The Mango Municipal Corporation continues to appeal to wholesalers and retailers to refrain from using single-use plastic products, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining a clean and sustainable environment for the community.
