Surprise inspection in Jamshedpur leads to ₹20,200 in fines for unlicensed shops and banned plastic sales; encroachment wall demolished.

Jamshedpur: A surprise inspection was conducted by a flying squad to check the trade licenses of 80 shops in various markets on the instructions of Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee.

During the inspection, 10 shops without licenses were fined a total of ₹11,000.

Additionally, ₹6,000 was collected from 11 shopkeepers and people who had set up shop on the road.

The flying squad, led by City Manager Ravi Bharti, In-charge Tax Inspector Manoj Kumar Lal Das, and Regional Tax Worker Prakash Bhagat, also recovered ₹3,200 in fines from three shopkeepers for buying and selling banned plastic.

In total, ₹20,200 was collected in fines from 23 shopkeepers and individuals.

In a separate incident, the flying squad, accompanied by Engineer Pranav Kumar Thakur, acted on a complaint of land encroachment in Kumharpada, Baradwari.

The under-construction wall was demolished, and encroachers were warned against further violations.
