Ryotdars adamant on retaining their land for farming instead of giving it up for Putru toll plaza construction

Jamshedpur: The construction of the Putru toll plaza has resulted in the acquisition of 21 acres of land from the villagers without fair compensation. In response, ryotdars have decided to retain their land and start farming it instead.

On Thursday, they performed Bhumi Pujan on the land and began the work of leveling it with the help of a JCB machine.

They said that acting on the advice of MLA Ramdas Soren, a memorandum has been submitted to various authorities, including DC, ADC, SDO, CO, City SP, Rural SP, NHAI, and the local police station, informing them that the ryotdars will not give up their land.

They said that they have made it clear that instead they will begin farming on it for their livelihood.

They said that some farmers have also decided to open shops on the land.

The ryotdars said that the land of innocent tribals has been taken for the purpose of business, and they have already been troubled enough for proper compensation.

They will not tolerate any further harassment and will go to any extent to protect their land, they said.

They added that they are ready to give their lives, but they will not give their agricultural land to the toll plaza under any circumstances.

The decision of the ryotdars to retain their land and start farming has been in the news for the past couple of days.

They claimed that they have been fighting for fair compensation for their land for two years and have now decided to take matters into their own hands.

They said that the construction of the Putru toll plaza has resulted in the loss of their land and livelihood, and they are unwilling to tolerate any further injustice.

The stance of ryotdars has once again brought to light the need for proper compensation and fair treatment of those affected by infrastructure projects.
