Bike-riding criminals fire at witness at Jamshedpur Civil Court; advocates demand enhanced security
Jamshedpur: Navin Kumar, a witness in the Manpreet Pal murder case, was targeted by bike-riding criminals on Monday afternoon at the Jamshedpur Civil Court, and a possibly fatal event was narrowly avoided.
Navin was exiting the court when the assailants opened fire with two rounds at Gate No. 3, but he was able to escape uninjured.
The gunshot sparked an uproar on the court grounds.
Officers from the Sitaramdera police station went to the location to look into the event as soon as they heard about it.

The two offenders attacked Navin Kumar as he was leaving the court through Gate No. 3, according to Navin Kumar’s attorney Anand, who claimed that his client had just finished giving testimony.
Following the event, which is not the first of its sort, advocates at the court have demanded increased security measures.
It may be mentioned here that Upendra Singh was murdered on the court grounds too. And there have been other shootings in the neighborhood.
The perpetrators nonetheless carried out Monday’s attack despite enhanced protection.

The advocates are calling for stronger security measures to stop such occurrences from happening again.
The legal community is also anticipating prompt action to safeguard the safety of individuals attending court sessions, but authorities have not yet commented on the situation.
