Bike-borne criminals manage to flee after firing gunshots

Jamshedpur: Unidentified bike-borne criminals fired at one Deepak Kumar Singh near Kumharpara Cinema Maidan under the jurisdiction of Sonari police station and injured him badly Friday night. The criminals managed to flee after firing at least 2 rounds.

According to information received, a resident of Bair Jhabra Basti, Deepak Kumar Singh, was shot many times by two unknown motorcycle-riding criminals who came at the Kumharpara Cinema grounds under the jurisdiction of Sonari police station in Jamshedpur.

The perpetrators left the site after shooting at Deepak. The locals rushed to the site on hearing gunshots.

Deepak, who had been injured, called his family, and they drove him right away to Tata Main Hospital, where he is now receiving medical care.

Deepak, a driver for CDSPL, sustained grave injuries in the knee and back. When officer-in-charge of Sonari Vishnu Raut and the City SP K Vijay Shankar arrived at the hospital, they questioned Deepak about the event. Deepak claims that he was on his way home when two masked men on a motorcycle approached him and started shooting at him. When he tried to flee, he was hit by two gunshots. The police are currently looking into the incident.
