Raids on hooch factories before Holi, one arrested, 3 absconding

Jamshedpur: A special drive to stop the manufacturing and distribution of illicit alcohol was launched in East Singhbhum on the eve of Holi festival on the instructions of the Assistant Excise Commissioner.

Four illicit Mahua distilleries were searched and destroyed as part of this drive in the Parsudih police station’s Namotola and Sarjamda areas, Sundarnagar police station’s Layalam-Tuila area, and Potka police station’s Lowadih area.

One person who was running an unauthorized Mahua distillery was detained and imprisoned during the drive by the excise team..

Three more bootleggers who were engaged in the illegal hooch business managed to flee the scene and were declared absconding..

P Singh of Tuila Lylum, was taken into custody by the raiding team and sent to jail.
